Hitchhiking with Bryce

October 3, 2009

So at the moment we are hitchhiking from Sacramento with Bryce, a local college student. A normal kid who loves racing hotrods and enjoys his farmland roots. He did just mention how he hates how people stop to look at pumpkins and corn. I witnessed this. I can understand his sediment.

We also got picked up from this guy Tabig from Sudan. I misjudged him at first. Made me think of a crack head from Florida. Lesson learned: Don’t judge a book from its cover. As we got out of his car the mechanical engineer with a PhD said: “Now you’ll remember your ten minutes in Davis as smoking a joint next to a train station, and passing a guy with a crazy face tattoo.” He was a pothead, not a crackhead. He was much more the sophisticated rasta type.

And before that, a reborn Christian guy picked us up. What was beautiful about this is he talked about synchonicity and intent, the same metaphysical ideas we have about the universe. But even with different terminology and root beliefs (ie with him god, with us the universe), we really could agree with the same ideals. It was an interesting meeting for all three of us indeed. He was the first person who believed and enjoyed when we shared our true hitchhiking philosophy of positive intent.

California Dreams

October 2, 2009

So Claudia and I at this very moment are in Granite Bay, California, just outside Sacramento. We’ve been all over since my last post. We spent ten days in Yosemite which I will have to write a post of on it’s own. I just figured out how to sent blog updates with text messages and emails so I can put my little Blackberry to work sending whatevers thoughts and adventures I may be having out to the rest of the world. Maybe my crazy ideas will manifest faster.

After Yosemite, we caught a ride with these two audio mixers/engineers from Jackson Hole who were headed to a gig in No. Cali called Earthdance. We drove through San Francisco then up Highway One on the the Pacific Coast. It was awesome to see all the fog in the area. I’ve never seen anything like it. Because of a ticket complication we had to hitch hike out of the event and got picked up my a medical marijuana grower. Just a bad ass experience that was. We went to South Lake Tahoe for a couple days where we stayed with some couchsurfers who were moving to China in a few days. Yes, I said China. Arian was from Texas, and her husband Tabias was from London.

Anyways, we escaped the cold as the winds just shifted a few days ago and the Sierra Nevadas are now about to get dumped with snow. From here, I really don’t know. San Francisco, but anywhere from Santa Cruz to Santa Rosa we could end up. Until next time, namaste! -Gregor

The Great Adventure

September 10, 2009

August 29th, Claudia, my greatest and closest of lovers, have departed our home of Maine for our greatest of adventures into the other world. We flew out of Manchester into Salt Lake City where a friend who we met online, Bill, picked us up. We drove through the deserts of Utah and Nevada down the Loneliest Road in America, Route 50, to reach our destination in Black Rock City for the famed Burning Man Festival. I am going to leave this intro message at that and plan to add much more with pictures once I have the time. At the moment, we’re just south of Lake Tahoe making our way to Yosemite. Merci mes amis et bon chance!
